Several ACRE Officers have been placed on the MTA payroll
and are receiving a handsome salary from the MTA. They also
receive full salary and expenses from the ACRE.
The MTAcre web site is in place to
help the ACRE membership understand the relationship of
the ACRE leadership to the MTA, and how it is possibly affecting
their decisions, which, in turn, affect the careers of all
union members
It is believed that the ACRE needs to be :
 |
More responsive to the needs of it's members |
 |
Held more accountable for the finances that they are
charged in handling. |
 |
Willing to address the apparent conflict of interest
that exists due to the leadership of the ACRE also being
nominally on the payroll of the MTA, while performing
no duties of value to the MTA. |
Below are some questions to consider
as you review some of the pertinent documents that are provided
on this web site :
 |
Is this what ACRE Officers consider an Independent
Rail Union? |
 |
Are the members truly independent by being subsidized
through the MTA? |
 |
Who is really calling the shots? |
 |
Remember ACRE’s new phrase “interest based
bargaining” ? |
| |
Whose interests are being promoted and protected?
|
 |
How and can ACRE Officers ever be objective towards
the ACRE and its membership by drawing a salary from
the MTA? |
 |
At the bargaining table sits the MTA chairman who
approves their pay. Can these ACRE Officers really afford
to upset or go against him? |
